About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Transportation Coordinator to support our Transportation Services Program for Older Adults. The Transportation Coordinator will manage drivers and oversee the creation and maintenance of driving routes, schedules, and safety checklists. This role ensures that participants are safely and efficiently transported to and from Older Adult Center programs, medical appointments, and special events.
Primary Responsibilities
Supervise and manage Drivers assigned to center-based programming at QCH’s six (6) older adult locations.
Conduct annual performance evaluations for drivers and support training plan development.
Plan and lead at least four quarterly staff meetings with the Deputy Director of Older Adult Services.
Enforce QCH Driver/Vehicle Policy rules and regulations.
Schedule and assign drivers for participant transportation (programs, appointments, special events).
Maintain a roster of substitute drivers and fill in as needed.
Oversee submission of daily safety and maintenance checklists.
Manage and file incident reports involving participants and/or drivers.
Coordinate transportation for supplies, programs, or agency events.
Ensure accurate submission of driver records, including trip logs, mileage logs, and fuel records.
Monitor vehicle cleanliness and communicate repair/maintenance needs to the QCH Fleet Manager.
Qualifications
Valid New York State Driver’s License (required).
2+ years of driving experience in New York City.
At least 1 year of professional transportation experience.
Sensitivity, patience, and the ability to relate to older adults.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated and resourceful; able to work independently and collaboratively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database tools.
What We Offer
Compensation: $22/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, 35 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
