Job Overview: As a Business Intelligence Engineer at TPS, you will be responsible for building and optimizing data solutions that drive business success and efficiency. You’ll work across data pipelines, data warehouses, data visualization, integrations, and governance—helping transform raw data into meaningful insights. This role is a key opportunity to leverage data in shaping business strategy and operational excellence. 

The Business Intelligence Engineer reports directly into the Data Warehouse Developer. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes in Matillion to move data from multiple sources into our Snowflake Data Warehouse.
  • Build and Manage Data Warehouses: Design and implement scalable data storage solutions to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Ensure Data Quality and Governance: Establish and monitor data quality checks, define standards, and maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Develop and Maintain Reporting Systems: Create dashboards and reports in Qlik Cloud that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with analysts, business users, and leadership to understand requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Diagnose and resolve data quality issues, performance challenges, and other BI-related problems.
  • Automate Data Processes: Develop automated workflows and scripts to improve efficiency in data processing and reporting.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by your direct supervisor or senior leadership.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 1+ years of relevant professional experience, or completion of a significant internship in a related field
  • Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot queries
  • Foundational knowledge of data modeling and database management concepts
  • Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake
  • Exposure to data integration platforms (Power Apps / Power Automate) is a plus
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new data technologies and tools
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Willingness to work on-site 3 days per week at our Corporate Office in Acton, MA
