Confidential Company located in Denver, CO is looking for a seasoned Debt Collection Manager to be on site and work with our collections team to collect our debt portfolio of auto, mortgage, student loan, healthcare, or commercial asset classes.  

The Role:

In this role you will be responsible for providing innovative daily Collections solutions, facilitating operations, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while leading a team to collect 3rd party debt.

  • Provide ongoing strategic oversight and recommendations for continuous process improvement and working collaboratively management team in maximizing firm receivables.
  • Enforce guidelines set for optimal results by implementing changes and improvements, executing strategies, managing inventory, and making recommendations to collections methods and procedures as needed.
  • Monitor and track accounts daily and collaborate with Senior Management to compile monthly collection projections.
  • Collaborate with our team to identify and remove roadblocks to collections.
  • Analyze inventory to ensure effective management of accounts for best collection potential.
  • Lead a team of collection specialists to manage workflow, coordinate assignments to meet deadlines, and drive collection initiatives aimed at minimizing exposure to risk, with an emphasis on maximizing collection efforts to meet objectives and department goals.
  • Effectively delegate and communicate goals to team.
  • Perform supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, training, managing overtime, scheduling time-off requests, and evaluating job performance daily and addressing needs of the team timely.
  • Set performance standards and goals; coach and develop staff to increase efficiency and deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Developing, recommending, and implementing plans to increase recoveries by developing specific call campaigns, and optimizing schedules, personnel, strategies, and collection techniques.
  • Identifying and recommending changes and enhancements to automated systems to increase recoveries and efficiencies. 
  • Maintaining systematic methods to ensure that collection techniques and processes are documented, reviewed, monitored, evaluated, critiqued, and updated on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Assist the Recruiting Department with interviewing and hiring new employees.
  • Auditing representative calls to ensure compliance and collections effectiveness. 
  • Performing formalized side-by-side training, remote monitoring and managing performance improvement plans.
  • Designing and promoting contests and challenges on the floor to motivate team members to exceed compliance demands and maximize collections.

About You:

  • Must be local or willing to relocate to the Denver, CO area.
  • You have at least five (5) years of previous experience as a manager in 3rd-party debt collections.
  • You have a definitive point of view on how this industry could and should be improved.
  • You have the desire to grow and mentor your team to be the best.
  • You are eager to make a real impact and introduce change where needed.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships within your team and across departments.
  • Knowledgeable about credit bureaus, skip tracing and other resources to locate delinquent debtors and assets.
  • Understanding of federal, bankruptcy and state laws and regulations (FDCPA, FCRA, GLBA, TCPA, HIPAA, CFPB, etc.).
  • Hands-On & Efficient Implementor of new ideas.
  • Perceptive & Detail-Oriented.
  • Previous experience with Intelligent Contacts, Q-Law, or Beam operating system is a plus, but not required.
