Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of HR to lead the HR function for our Nu-Heat sites. Reporting directly to the Managing Director with a matrix link to the Divisional HR Director, you will play a key role in aligning our local people strategies with broader divisional and Group priorities. With a headcount of c.170 and one direct report, you will be both a strategic partner and a hands-on HR generalist, championing best practice across the entire employee lifecycle.

Your Mission
Business Partnering: Act as a trusted partner to the Managing Director and site leadership team to deliver Nu-Heat’s people strategy. Provide high-quality advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of HR including organisational design, employee relations, performance, and workforce planning.
Strategic Leadership: Demonstrates strategic thinking and the ability to align Group and Divisional HR priorities with Nu-Heats’ overall goals and objectives.
Employee Engagement: Track record of developing and implementing initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
Organizational Development: Skilled in organisational design and development including change management and reorganisation.
Employee Relations: Manage complex employee relations cases with a pragmatic, legally compliant, and solutions-focused approach. Ensure consistency and fairness in all employee interactions.
Operational HR Management: In conjunction with the Group and Divisional HR Team, design and deliver core HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, absence management, policy development, learning & development, and employee engagement initiatives.
Culture and Engagement: Drive initiatives that support an inclusive, values-led culture. Lead engagement surveys and feedback mechanisms to shape continuous improvement in employee experience.
Talent and Succession Planning: Support leadership in identifying and developing talent pipelines and succession plans.
HR Data and Reporting: Ensure accurate maintenance of all HR data and metrics. Produce and analyse monthly and 1/4ly reports across the wider Group.
Health and Wellbeing: Collaborate with Occupational Health to manage LTS cases and workplace adjustments. Promote a safe and healthy working environment.
Divisional & Group Collaboration: Play an active role in the CMS HR leadership team, sharing insights and collaborating on divisional and Group-wide initiatives. Contribute to the identification and implementation of opportunities that enhance the employee experience and support strategic alignment across sites
Project Work: Support divisional and Group-wide HR initiatives and change programmes, ensuring alignment with Nu-Heat’s site-specific needs and readiness.
What You Bring
Proven track record as a senior HR generalist, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy, and operational HR delivery
Demonstrable experience working in a matrix organisation with both local and centralised reporting structures
Skilled in coaching, influencing and challenging senior stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
Confident in analysing HR metrics and workforce data to drive people decisions
