Position Overview
As the Director, Accounting Operations, you will lead the company’s accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, efficiency, and strategic alignment with business objectives. This role will oversee multiple accounting functions, manage large-scale process improvements, implement financial controls, and drive automation and efficiency. As a key finance leader, the Director will collaborate across departments, influence executive decision-making, and maintain a strong governance framework for accounting operations.
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Financial Leadership
Provide strategic direction for accounting operations to align with business goals and financial objectives.
Develop and implement policies to ensure financial integrity, operational excellence, and scalability.
Serve as a key financial advisor to senior leadership, offering insights for strategic planning and performance optimization.
Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, financial reconciliations, and month-end close.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, delivering insights to drive decision-making.
Strengthen financial reporting frameworks to enhance visibility and transparency across the organization.
Process Optimization & Automation
Drive automation initiatives to streamline financial processes and reduce inefficiencies.
Implement best-in-class accounting practices, workflows, and controls for operational effectiveness.
Lead financial transformation projects, including ERP system enhancements and process standardization.
Internal Controls, Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company financial policies.
Strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial risks and improve governance.
Collaborate with audit teams to ensure compliance and readiness for financial reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with executive leadership, finance, and operational teams to support business strategies.
Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Act as a key liaison between corporate finance and regional accounting teams, ensuring alignment in financial operations.
Technology Integration & Financial Innovation
Lead the implementation of financial technology solutions to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Drive innovation in financial planning, forecasting, and operational analytics.
Champion digital transformation in accounting operations, leveraging advanced financial tools.
Risk Management & Business Optimization
Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard assets and enhance operational efficiency.
Provide executive leadership with actionable insights to drive financial performance and cost management.
Stay ahead of industry trends to ensure best-in-class financial practices.
Special Projects & Leadership Initiatives
Spearhead large-scale financial initiatives and system implementations.
Lead strategic projects that support business expansion and operational scalability.
Handle additional duties as assigned by Executive Management.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; **Master’s degree (MBA, Finance, or Accounting)** strongly preferred.
CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications highly desirable.
10+ years of experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, or related fields.
Leadership experience managing accounting teams and large-scale financial operations.
Proven expertise in financial automation, process improvement, and strategic planning.
Experience in data centers, construction, or infrastructure industries preferred but not essential.
Strong executive leadership and strategic vision.
Advanced financial analysis, modeling, and reporting skills.
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) for executive and stakeholder interactions.
Expertise in financial systems, ERP platforms, and digital transformation initiatives.
Ability to influence decision-making at the highest levels.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and risk-management capabilities.
Track record of driving operational efficiency, innovation, and financial governance.
Travel required is expected to be up to 15% but may increase over time as the business evolves

Additional Details
Salary Range: $180,000 - $190,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
