Job Announcement: Housekeeping PM/On-call Shift

Location: Blue Mountain Hospital

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

Blue Mountain Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for patients, employees, and the public while helping prevent the spread of infection and odors. The Housekeeper may be exposed to blood and other infectious materials and must comply with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standards and Blue Mountain Hospital’s Exposure Control Plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrive within 10 minutes when on call 

• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, and buffers.
  

• Clean, disinfect, and maintain hospital facilities, ensuring a sanitary environment.

• Dispose of waste properly and follow all safety protocols regarding hazardous materials.

• Work in various conditions, including damp, dusty, and soiled areas.

• Regularly sanitize sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and showers.

• Empty trash containers and ensure all patient and staff areas are kept clean and fresh.

• Report any maintenance issues or needed repairs promptly.

• Follow strict safety and infection control guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 50–75 pounds.

• Maintain an active presence throughout the shift, including walking, sitting, and standing as needed.

• Flexibility to work various shifts as required.

General Expectations

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.

• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

• Work collaboratively with all hospital staff, ensuring a positive and respectful work environment.

• Communicate concerns through appropriate internal channels.
