Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Administration or a related field of study normally required; specialized banking education and training.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; working knowledge of the features and benefits of all retail banking products and services; working knowledge of retail banking operating policies and procedures; proficient PC skills; demonstrated supervisory skills; visual and auditory skills; valid drivers’ license, as well as proof of auto insurance.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' related experience normally required.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for providing oversight of retail operations to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all branch offices; coordinating work within the division, as well as with other divisions and departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the retail operations function; directly supervising assigned personnel; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.
Essential Duties
- Provides oversight of retail operations to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all branch offices as follows:
a. Supports branch operations with technical/platform issues, coordinating with
Back-office staff, Operations, IT and outside vendors as needed; regularly monitors and evaluates applications and software for optimal utilization. Reviews release documentation and performs QA testing.
b. Manages Retail vendor relations; negotiates and maintains vendor contracts and service agreements for bank’s equipment and services within Retail. Reviews and approves vendor invoices and keeps updated due diligence materials and user Entity Controls.
c. Serves as liaison communicating with retail, Operations and IT personnel for core vendor, initiatives including service level announcements, upgrades and releases in order to fully integrate the benefits of these products.
d. Identifies, evaluates and recommends new product implementation pertaining
to retail; supports and coordinates the implementation with internal and external contacts as well as assists in developing SOP’s and training of retail staff where appropriate.
e. Coordinates the development and maintains the Retail Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
f. Recommends standards and procedures necessary to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective (within annual budget) utilization of branch personnel and equipment as well as operational changes to optimize branch productivity.
g. Tracks retail equipment, supplies and vendor expense for budgeting and prepares annual budget for Retail Operations including CIT services, ATMs, Supplies and Equipment updates and servicing.
h. Assists with developing onboarding and training checklists for all branch functions and coordinates with Training Manager to ensures that retail employees are completing training in a timely fashion.
i. Works with Retail Banking Manager to ensure appropriate branch staffing levels for optimal service to customers.
j. Develops and refines an audit/controls checklist with appropriate internal personnel and vendors; monitors branch reports such as tellers’ over and short, cash limits, check systems, etc.
k. Coordinates with Security and BSA/AML Officers to help with the process of recovery where losses are involved; may interface with the Bank attorney and police when needed brings significant losses to the immediate attention of the Retail Banking Division Manager.
2. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
3. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the division as well as with other divisions and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information

Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.; ensures that assigned personnel adhere to the same.
5. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
a. Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
b. Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel; trains new personnel as required.
c Reviews employee performance throughout the introductory period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
d. Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.
e. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the division and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
f. Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by Bank policy.
6. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
7. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
8. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
9. Actively participates in community activities in a manner which reflects favorably on the Bank.
