Description

About the Organization

Experience Tulsa is a dynamic initiative within InTulsa Initiative, LLC designed to make Tulsa a destination of choice for top talent – a city where innovation, inclusivity, and opportunity propel a thriving economy and a connected community. By cultivating experiences that make every newcomer and longtime resident feel valued, supported, and empowered to shape Tulsa’s future, we help the city welcome talent and keep it.

We achieve this through immersive city visits, curated storytelling, and community-driven experiences that help individuals discover Tulsa and envision a life here. Experience Tulsa is part of the George Kaiser Family Foundation's Talent Pillar, working alongside, but distinct from, programs such as Tulsa Remote, LLC, Campus Tulsa, and Tulsa Service Year.

Position Purpose

The Experience Tulsa Marketing Manager will lead and implement the direct-to-consumer marketing strategy that builds emotional connection with the city of Tulsa and deepens awareness of the Experience Tulsa brand.

This role focuses exclusively on the Experience Tulsa program and does not support the marketing needs of other talent pillar programs (e.g., Tulsa Remote, Campus Tulsa or Tulsa Service Year). The manager will guide the development of lifestyle-focused campaigns, community-based storytelling, and place-driven messaging aimed at prospective and current residents.

Part creative strategist, part experience architect, this person will shape how Tulsa is introduced and felt across digital and in-person experiences. The ideal candidate combines a passion for brand storytelling with operational savvy, digital fluency, and a consumer-first mindset.

Core Responsibilities

Marketing & Storytelling

  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Experience Tulsa core team to define and execute annual marketing strategies tailored to consumer audiences.
  • Lead development of creative campaigns that celebrate Tulsa’s neighborhoods, culture, and people across social media, web, video and print.
  • Ensure the Experience Tulsa social media strategy aligns with other marketing initiatives and lead content planning for the organization, with support from the Social Media team.
  • Develop and manage advertising strategies targeting both local and national audiences, ensuring resonance with individuals considering Tulsa as a place to live.
  • Lead experimentation with new media formats, storytelling techniques, and marketing channels to deepen emotional engagement.
  • Identify and elevate community stories that reflect the vibrancy, diversity, and inclusivity of Tulsa.
  • Partner with vendors (designers, photographers, content creators, developers) to produce creative assets that reflect a consistent and compelling brand identity.

Experience-Driven Marketing

  • Create branded experiences (both digital and physical) that make newcomers feel welcomed and connected to Tulsa.
  • Support events, activations, and campaigns that showcase Tulsa’s lifestyle, values, and community spirit.
  • Ensure all brand interactions, from welcome kits to landing pages, feel intentional, inclusive, and people-first.

Marketing Systems & Enablement

  • Work alongside the Director of Marketing and internal analytics teams to define marketing goals, KPIs, and performance benchmarks across channels—ensuring clear measurement of impact, ROI, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage and optimize the marketing tech stack, including tools such as HubSpot, Canva, Asana, and Webflow, ensuring tools are effectively used to support collaboration, campaign execution and performance tracking.
  • Develop templates, workflows, and shared content libraries to enable consistent, high-quality brand execution by internal teams and external partners.
  • Maintain campaign documentation, audience journey maps, and knowledge management systems that support learning and improve marketing performance over time.

Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience managing marketing operations and platforms (HubSpot, Canva, Webflow, Asana, etc.).
