Description
Job Description: The Material Planner is a full-time administrative position that manages inventories to ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules. A successful Material Planner manages the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality material required to maintain steady production and product delivery.
Essential Job Duties

• Determine the required materials and generate purchase orders utilizing MRP
• Schedule and manage the delivery of materials to various Sun-Maid warehouses
• Initiate warehouse transfers to support production at various Sun-Maid sites
• Assist in the management and reporting of inventory levels for assigned categories
• Manage adjustments in inventories needed to support schedule changes and cancellations
• Coordinate timing with Scheduling for artwork and product transitions
• Submit master data governance change requests, as required
Ancillary Job Duties
(Refers to secondary or supporting tasks and responsibilities that are not considered primary or essential for a particular job. These job duties can include tasks that are helpful, but not critical to job performance.)
• Address and assist Procurement Managers to drive resolution to quality issue with suppliers
• Review and resolve quantity discrepancies on supplier invoices
• Report supplier service and quality metrics, as requested
• Elevate concerns regarding supplier performance to Procurement Managers
• Performs other procurement administrative duties, as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma/GED required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other related field, preferred
• 1 – 3 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or other supply chain role, preferably in food manufacturing, preferred
Licenses and Certificates:
• Experience with QAD or another ERP system
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word & Excel
• CPSM or APICS certification, preferred
