The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in biology beginning fall 2026. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Associate Professor possible. We seek a biologist whose teaching and research address topics in neurobiology. The area of specialty within neurobiology is open, and we will consider candidates' ability to add depth or distinctiveness to our curriculum.
Our Biology Department has a long-standing commitment to attracting and retaining students from diverse backgrounds. Our innovative curriculum and inquiry-driven pedagogy promote inclusivity and help students explore how Biology intersects with other disciplines. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters (with lab sections counting as 0.5 courses); periodically one course will be Tutorial (a topical writing/critical thinking course for first-year students, the only College-wide requirement beyond the completion of a major in an individually-advised curriculum). We seek candidates that will teach at all three levels of our curriculum, including our novel research-based introductory course, an intermediate-level course in Cellular and Molecular Biology and an upper-level course in Neurobiology. Successful candidates will also show promise for establishing a research program that involves undergraduates.

Candidates will need to upload a letter of application, curriculum vitae, transcripts (copies are acceptable), statements describing teaching interests and a research program that can involve undergraduates, and provide email addresses for three references. Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2025, and continue until the position is filled.
