Hybrid Temporary IT Support Specialist na Simons Foundation

POSITION SUMMARY 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Operations, the Temporary IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing day-to-day IT support for foundation community members, including desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, wired and wireless networks, software and cloud services.

This is a part-time position at 32 hours a week, based in our offices in New York City. This is a temporary position that is expected to last one month, with the possibility of an extension. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fulfill technology support requests from foundation staff

• Respond to help desk tickets

• Configure and deploy Macs

• Troubleshoot hardware

• Manage cloud accounts and software licenses

• Carry out basic networking requests

• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Desired Experience

• 2–3 years of experience troubleshooting and supporting Apple devices including Macs, iPhones and iPads

• Experience with macOS MDM solutions such as Jamf

• Experience administering and supporting Google Workspace, Dropbox and Slack

• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra or other identity management/SSO platforms

Physical Requirements

• Move throughout several nearby office buildings frequently to provide IT support and set up workspaces

• Position one-self to install and fix equipment, including under desks or on top of networking racks or in the server room

• Move, lift, and transport supplies and equipment weighing 30-40 pounds regularly

COMPENSATION

• The compensation range for this position is an hourly rate of $31.25 to $38.46 per hour.
