Operations Manager for Jiten Hotel Management is a combined role as the Housekeeper Supervisor and Front Office Supervisor. However this particular position main focus will be on the Housekeeper Areas and Departments within the Hotel. The Operations Manager has responsibility for the cleanliness of the hotel; efficient operation of the housekeeping and front desk departments, storage, inventory, and assisting the General Manager in all other areas to ensure smooth operations as well as ensuring that all associates are adhering to all hotel policies, standards, procedures and regulations. As the overall goal and focus for both departments as a whole is striving for 100% guest satisfaction.

Specific Duties

  • Overseeing operation of the Housekeeping and Front Office Departments on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assist with the hiring, orienting, training, communicating job expectations; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Fulfilling the operational needs of associated departments such as front desk, laundry and staff needs or requests, as possible. Be prepared to cover all shifts when necessary and needed.
  • Have knowledge about the sales strategy, packages, promotions, discounts and know how to handle these and how they relate to other departments.
  • Report any sales leads to the sales department as they come to the front desk.
  • Make sure you double check the reports printed at the desk to ensure accuracy and follow through with checklists, credit card reports, cash deposits, etc.
  • Know all frequent customers and be familiar with their special requests. Ensure that all needs are met.
  • Ensure that a process exists for an immediate response to all guest problems and guest correspondence.
  • Ensure that assigned guestrooms, corridors, vending areas and other areas are properly cleaned daily. Inspect these areas daily and submit work orders to the engineering department.
  • Ensure that all reports are prepared completely and on time.
  • Ensures good communication between all departments.
  • Ensure that an effective and complete training program is in use and that all associates are well trained and re-trained, as needed.
  • Resolves system problems and can operate the system manually. Can lead the staff through a down time.
  • Ensure that proper key controls are in effect.
  • Ensure all supplies are well maintained.
  • Control overtime through good management and immediate response to problems.
  • Ensure that all associate are in their department’s complete uniforms and conform to the company’s dress code.
  • Review preventive maintenance rooms daily.
  • Review out-of-order rooms daily.
  • Ensure that Lost and Found articles are stored properly and that the correct logs are maintained.
  • Always be professional and ethical in dealing with guest, associates, vendors and other departments.
  • Be informed about daily operations and events.
  • Be highly visible during extraordinary events.
  • Be familiar with sales strategies; communicate daily with sales.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge about all brands with-in Jiten Hotel Managements Portfolio.
  • Be knowledgeable about all emergency plans and know how to act upon them.
  • Maintain division goals in relation to accident prevention, safety and fire prevention and associate awareness.
  • Report any unusual occurrences immediately to the General Manager.
