Geocgi is looking for a GIS Technician to support our client at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The candidate will support daily geospatial data management, analysis, and visualization in alignment with installation-level mission requirements. This position is an onsite opportunity with the primary location of performance at Misawa Air Base, Japan.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Collect, input, and maintain geospatial data to support installation infrastructure, utilities, and operational planning.
•    Produce accurate maps and data visualizations in support of planning, engineering, and decision-making.
•    Research source records, engineering drawings, and field observations to resolve data conflicts and verify accuracy.
•    Update and maintain GIS databases with new construction, demolition, and infrastructure changes.
•    Perform data queries, generate custom reports, and create cartographic products tailored to user needs.
•    Support document imaging, digitizing, and database referencing for geospatial records.
•    Conduct field data collection using GPS equipment and integrate results into GIS systems.

The following are requirements of the GIS Technician:
•    U.S. Citizen. Active U.S. Passport.
•    Associate’s degree or equivalent coursework in GIS, geography, planning, civil engineering, computer science, or related field.
•    3+ years of GIS-related experience.
•    Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server).
•    Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Map3D and ability to interpret civil/architectural drawings.
•    Familiarity with GPS equipment and workflows for field data collection.
•    Ability to perform algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric calculations in support of mapping workflows.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and meet schedule requirements.

The following are preferred of the GIS Technician:
•    Experience with SDSFIE standards, CAD/BIM-to-GIS integration, or municipal infrastructure datasets.
•    Prior experience supporting U.S. military or installation geospatial programs.
