Product Specialist is a skilled and motivated individual to assist in setting up and launching a new vehicle model at our plant. This role will involve hands-on activities, from planning and organizing to training and ensuring quality production processes. You’ll be working closely with engineers, production teams, and contractors to ensure that all phases of the new model launch run smoothly.
You Will:
- New Model Launch:
- Help prepare the plant for the introduction of a new model.
- Collaborate with engineers to design manufacturing processes and tools, ensuring efficient and effective production.
- Set up workstations, write work instructions, and allocate tasks for line balancing.
- Assist in designing and installing the required tooling and equipment.
- Pilot Model Execution:
- Plan and execute all phases of a "pilot model" run.
- Train and support the workforce in building the new model and understanding its design.
- Organize, stage, and manage parts (unique parts, sequenced parts, and maintaining proper part revisions).
- Develop and implement poke-yokes (error-proofing measures) for new parts (e.g., scanning, visual aids, etc.).
- Ensure smooth production by escorting new models down the line, assisting operators with new parts, and relieving them as necessary to maintain production flow.
- Monitor build quality to ensure vehicles are assembled correctly with the right parts and no mistakes are made.
- Identify and resolve any build issues promptly, ensuring continuous progress until delivery.
- Production Support:
- Assist production teams during non-peak periods, filling in for absenteeism or short staffing.
- Support the movement and repair of vehicles within the shop.
- Learn and contribute to other areas of the production line as needed.
You Bring:
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle assembly and the ability to build cars.
- Familiar with MES: Close and open items, campaigns management, parts request.
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with teams and provide training.
- Experience working with engineers to resolve production issues and implement fixes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
