Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Program Description: The Baxter Safe Haven is a transitional housing residence for unsheltered adults. Goddard Riverside Community Center is committed to building community and enhancing the lives of vulnerable New Yorkers by meeting essential human needs.
Position Summary: The RN will play a crucial role at our Safe Haven, which serves as a temporary home to 74 unsheltered individuals. The RN will be responsible for delivering direct and comprehensive nursing care, overseeing and monitoring medication management, and promoting physical and mental health integration. This role is vital in ensuring the overall health and well-being of our residents, providing both medical and psychosocial support.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary Range: $105,000- $115,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

- Facilitate patient care within the Safe Haven.
- Sign in and out with onsite doctors and coordinate with other healthcare providers.
- Review medical documents and shelter referral packets.
- Manage inventory for medical supplies.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments.
- Provide triage, arrange lab work, administer medications, and educate patients.
- Support the administration of medication and evaluate patient responses.
- Maintain and track medication deliveries.
- Plan and coordinate care and interventions.
- Participate in clinical case reviews.
- Complete the weekly medical and psychiatric schedule.
- Document patient engagements in cares
- Provide crisis intervention and first aid as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with pharmacies and other healthcare practitioners.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NY.
- BLS certification upon hire.
- 2-3 years of experience, with a preference for experience in mental health and addiction settings.
- Strong clinical and technical skills, including phlebotomy and medication administration.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Compassionate and understanding towards individuals experiencing homelessness.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- High concentration and frequent interruptions.
- Computer Savy
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 20 lbs.).
- Frequent periods of sitting at a computer workstation.
- Field work may be required; travel throughout the five boroughs of NYC
