We are seeking a detailed and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of the company’s core accounting functions. This role oversees Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, the month-end close process, and the corporate credit card program. In addition, the Accounting Manager will prepare monthly financial reporting packages, conduct variance analysis, and ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and company policies.


This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data and driving process improvements within the accounting function. This is a hybrid work schedule that requires at least two days onsite at our Burr Ridge location, with no exceptions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage the corporate credit card program, including reconciliations, compliance monitoring, and process improvements.
  • Lead the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages, including balance sheet, profit & loss statement, and supporting schedules.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide clear commentary on significant trends and fluctuations.
  • Maintain, update, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation in accounting processes.
  • Support the Controller with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, required. Master's, a plus
  • Minimum of 5 + years of progressive accounting experience, including AP, AR, and month-end close responsibilities, required.

License/Certificate:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements and internal control
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficient in accounting software (Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, SQL) preferred. 
  • Advanced Excel skills, required
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Problem-solving mindset with a continuous improvement approach
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic, follow-through, and accountability for results

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $136,000 annually, reflecting the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final placement within this range will be determined by several factors, including—but not limited to—education, certifications, relevant experience, skills, travel requirements, and overall business needs. In addition to the base compensation, eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes annual bonus, paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, paid parental leave, and a 401(k)-match retirement plan.
