Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have experience with handling high volume accounts payable and account reconciliations experience. Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Timely and accurately process supplier invoices and payments
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account issues.
- Perform and manage account reconciliations, including supplier statements, bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
- Adhere to established accounting processes and internal reporting requirements
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial statements are accurate and in compliance with GAAP.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data entry and reporting in the company’s web-based ERP system.
- Analyze prior payments and research application errors to ensure accuracy.
- Serve as a backup to other accounting functions as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High-volume accounts payable and inventory cost reconciliation experience; private equity backed and/or manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge with proper coding of invoices to general ledger accounts
- Prior experience as an owner of the supplier payment process.
- Experience working with a web-based ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite- advanced Excel skills preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and deadline conscious
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required. Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with financial statement preparation and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of internal controls and compliance standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at a time.
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
