You'll assist with the daily operations and customer service of the pharmacy, as directed by the pharmacists and allowed by law. Location and hours:
This position will be located at the NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center at 2220 Plymouth Avenue North, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411. Work hours are negotiable but will be weekdays, sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and rotating Saturdays every three weeks from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This position will also require working 1 to 2 evening shifts per week until 7:30 p.m. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In this position, you will:         
  • Perform activities related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients under the supervision of pharmacists.
  • Distribute medications or documents to patients and resolve customer pharmacy-related issues at pharmacy point-of-sale windows.
  • Assist with distribution of stock medications, over-the-counter products, and other supplies to clinic staff.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, Hennepin County, and NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
  • Develop technical knowledge and competency of products/services provided by the pharmacy in order to provide information and assist patients and clinic staff.
  • Participate in trainings, educational and professional programs, and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain pharmacy knowledge, competency, and certification.

Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Graduation from a pharmacy technician training program.
    • One year or more of experience in a pharmacy technology or health care related position.
  • A valid pharmacy technician registration in the state of Minnesota. 
Nice to have:   
  • Experience:
    • In data management in a pharmacy environment.
    • With pharmacy related computer software.
    • Working with patients and medical staff in a multidisciplinary setting. 
  • Ability to:
    • Consult with medical staff in a multidisciplinary setting.
    • Make decisions within the confines of pharmacy rules and regulations. 
    • Inter-relate in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of computer data entry, operation systems, and pharmacy rules and regulations related to the role of the registered Pharmacy Technician.
