Job Posting: Elementary English Language Arts BRIDGE Teacher

Context of the Role:
The FOCUS Grant, established by the NJDOE, supports the comprehensive implementation of universal screening tools for students in kindergarten through third grade, as mandated by state law. Beyond the administration of screeners, the grant provides professional learning for teachers on data interpretation and how to determine actionable next steps.
The BRIDGE Teacher will be a member of the building data team with demonstrated leadership skills. They will work closely with building administrators, district administrators, and K-3 grade-level teams to achieve the following:
BUILD teacher capacity to interpret screener data and own the process at the grade and class levels.
REVIEW screener data comprehensively before meeting with grade-level teams, noting patterns, trends, and outliers, using a provided data interpretation protocol.
INFORM DECISIONS focused on responsive instruction by recommending and designing actionable grade-level learning plans in response to the data.
GUIDE teachers in robust NJTSS implementation of Tier 1 interventions through recommendations of appropriate strategies and resources.
ELEVATE student outcomes on gap areas in screener assessments.
Responsibilities & Time Commitment:
Upon the release of screener data after each assessment cycle (Fall, Winter, and Spring), BRIDGE Teachers will review the data for each grade level and recommend learning plans. The BRIDGE Teacher will report these items to the K-5 ELA Supervisor, building-level administration, and other data team members at the start of building-level data team meetings. After review and revision by the building data team, these plans will be disseminated by the BRIDGE teacher and administration during building and district-level professional learning time on December 8, March 11, & June 1.
The expectation is 1.25 hours of work per grade level for each screening assessment cycle (Fall, Winter, Spring). This totals 15 hours of work and will be completed outside of contract hours.
