About the Role

The Program Assistant (PA) plays a key role within the administrative team supporting Undergraduate Programs in the Faculty of Education. This position provides comprehensive administrative support for program operations, courses, and related activities. The PA assists students with a variety of inquiries, including guidance on program policies and procedures, and contributes to a positive student experience. The PA delivers high-quality service and supports efficient program administration. 

The ideal Program Assistant is passionate about education and the opportunity to contribute to the success of undergraduate students. The ideal candidate values working in a collaborative, people-centered environment, is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, is confident in their technical skills and competencies, and has a strong commitment to excellent service.

Qualifications

High school graduation and one year of post-secondary education or formal program equivalent including training in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing applications. 4 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.

  • Good knowledge of standard office practices, methods and equipment.
  • Good knowledge of University regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications and online student information systems at an intermediate level.
