Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly experienced Senior AR/AP Specialist to oversee the full cycle of accounts receivable and accounts payable operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all transactions, while identifying process improvements and providing guidance to other team members. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end AR and AP process, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, expense reporting, and account reconciliations.
  • Review and approve payment runs, journal entries, and account adjustments.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain accurate records of vendor contracts, purchase orders, and payment terms.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
  • Generate and analyze aging reports to provide actionable insights for management.
  • Accurately document work instructions to support accounting staff to provide training and guidance.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in AR and AP functions, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP accounting software; AS400/BPCS application knowledge is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and initiative in a team environment.

Work Environment:
 This role is based in a professional office setting. Must be able to sit for extended periods, work at a computer, and handle standard office equipment. Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required. Standard business hours with occasional overtime during month-end, year-end, or special projects.
