Processes a variety of financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments. Oversees tellers performing routine financial transactions. Assists tellers with more complex tasks and schedules the work flow.
Responsibilities
- Maintains excellent customer service which includes prompt acknowledgment of customer, friendly and courteous disposition, customer satisfaction on transaction requests, and professional image.
- Completes customer transactions. Transactions may include: cashing checks, receiving deposits, distributing withdrawals, processing transfers, accepting loan payments, redeeming assorted savings bonds, performing cash advances, selling money orders, and adding stop payments to accounts.
- Informs customers of bank products and services, features and benefits. Identifies customers’ needs and recommends products and services and/or refers customers to appropriate staff.
- Follows regulations and security procedures, completes necessary documents and maintains confidentiality.
- Verifies customers' signatures, account ownership, and identification. Utilizes teller terminal to obtain account numbers and balances to research customers’ transaction questions and to process address changes.
- Process mail, night, and ATM deposits. Scan and uploads documents to be forwarded or uploaded to the appropriate file or department. Runs loose coins for our customers and non-customers. Secures and seals the bagged loose coins from the coin machine to the vault.
- Verifies cash received or distributed by vault and balances the vault on a rotating basis. Balances teller drawer daily against the teller terminal.
- Helps conduct research on teller outages and relays that information to the research department. Answers and resolves some customer problems. May schedule teller work hours as needed.
- Performs vault duties. Orders and verifies coin and currency received from bank. Prepares outgoing coin. Disburses change orders to tellers.
- Remits money order report (daily or weekly dependent on branch location). Assists in the monthly reports for the teller department; includes all audits and shipment logs.
- Assists and backs up the branch reporting officer when necessary. Provides teller overrides. Assists with training new tellers as needed. Conducts huddles and attends branch meetings, open or close branch under direct procedural guidelines.

Qualifications
- High School diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required.
- At least one year teller experience required.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail and high level of accountability.
