 Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute successful quality control processes
    • Ensure work is completed correctly and as requested
    • Road test vehicles to duplicate guest concerns when necessary
    • Maintain a high-quality of service repairs and minimal comebacks
    • Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
    • Prioritize and control comebacks
  • Manage an efficient dispatch schedule, assigning repair orders to technicians based on their skill set and availability
  • Control the flow of work through the shop to ensure optimal utilization of resources
  • Monitor technician workload and strive to distribute work evenly to maximize efficiency and avoid overload, especially for specialized technicians or equipment (e.g., alignment lift and other specialty lifts)
  • Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential capacity risks
  • Coordinate with service advisors and technicians to determine job status, estimated completion times, and potential delays
  • Prioritize repairs based on urgency and client needs, balancing routine tasks with emergency situations
  • Handle unexpected changes, such as breakdowns or delays, by adjusting schedules and communicating with affected parties
  • Communicate job status updates, time changes, and cost estimates to customers and service advisors, setting appropriate expectations
  • Ensure complete, clear, and timely repair order documentation
  • Maintain an accurate repair log and track vehicle progress

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of automotive shop experience
  • Appropriate education and experience related to job duties
  • Demonstrated track record analyzing, identifying, and developing solutions to problems that impact the customer
  • Integrity and honesty are absolute requirements
  • Ability to type and utilize all functions of a computer and various operating programs
  • Efficiency using Microsoft Suite Programs such as: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and subsequent random drug screens
