Job Summary:
The Research Assistant supports the implementation and conduct of clinical research studies
under the direction of a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) or Principal Investigator (PI). This
role involves assisting with subject recruitment, data collection, documentation, and general
study coordination in compliance with regulatory guidelines and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling of research visits
- Obtain informed consent under appropriate supervision and ensure proper documentation
- Collect, enter, and maintain research data in electronic and paper-based systems
- Assist in completing case report forms (CRFs) and resolving data queries
- Coordinate specimen collection, labeling, and shipment per protocol requirements
- Maintain study logs, source documentation, and subject files
- Prepare materials for study visits or procedures
- Assist with regulatory document filing, IRB correspondence, and compliance tracking
- Support monitoring visits, audits, and study closeout activities
- Attend team meetings, trainings, and sponsor calls as required
- Other job functions as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health, science, or related field
- Interest in or 6+ months of experience in clinical research, healthcare, or laboratory work
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Previous clinical or research experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology, EHR systems, or clinical trial databases
- GCP or Human Subjects Research Certification
Work Environment:
- Clinical and office-based settings
- Hybrid work model
- Requires interaction with patients, clinicians, and external research partners
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, if needed
- Requires travel to clinical sites as needed (must have own transportation)
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
