SAIC is seeking an Electronics Technician in Hanahan, SC.

Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
  • Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions
  • Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts

Required Education:

Electronics Technician I:

  • High School diploma or GED.  Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.  Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
  • Experience:  Two (2) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.

Electronics Technician II:

  • High School diploma or GED.  Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.  Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
  • Experience:  Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.

Electronics Technician III:

  • High School diploma or GED.  Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.  Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
  • Experience:  Eight (8) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.

Other Required:

  • Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following:
    • Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis
    • Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods
    • Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, Mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary
    • Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with cable fabrication

Required Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance. Active clearances accepted
