The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.  

 

We are looking for a Warehouse Packaging Coordinator for handling packaging and product requirements for branded and private label customers. This clerical role is accountable for ensuring product is accurately coded, labeled and packaged in the Label-line Department and that the customer orders are labeled, packaged, and distributed correctly and on time. This role will be responsible for a high level of collaboration with all levels, manufacturing plants, and the ability to solve problems, create, and direct plans at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate all new packaging and revisions between Sales and Customers requirements.
  • Coordinating packaging revisions to plant personnel as required. 
  • Maintenance and review of all applicable bills of materials to ensure proper packaging. 
  • Able to field customer calls, answer basic questions and forward to appropriate parties as necessary. 
  • Develop, maintain, and manage a system/database of final packaging and/or labels to include supporting documentation needed for compliance. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Associate degree or higher-level course work; Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business, or Food Science preferred.
  • At least 1 year of office experience and project management experience and 1 year warehouse experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience using Microsoft Office and ERP system (PeopleSoft ERP experience preferred); MS Project experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented, ability to perform tasks in a timely and efficient manner, and ability to take full ownership with a sense of urgency on packaging projects.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.

 

Compensation:

The wage range is $22 - $25, based on experience and qualifications.
