The Associate will support senior lawyers in delivering strategic and pragmatic legal advice across a broad spectrum of employment law and workplace safety matters. This includes handling disputes, drafting legal documents, and contributing to business development initiatives.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the conduct of litigated and unlitigated employment law matters, including workplace investigations
- Provide advice in relation to WHS issues
- Assist in representing clients in regulatory proceedings (including WHS and Electrical Safety prosecutions)
- Draft and review contracts, policies, procedures.
- Assist in representing clients in the Fair Work Commission and other relevant tribunals.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on employment/WHS legislation and case law.
- Liaise with clients, counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
- Support business development and client relationship initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law, WHS regulations, and industry trends.
- Adhere to firm policies and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Admission to practice law in Australia.
- Minimum 2 years’ post-admission experience in employment law or related litigation.
- Experience in workplace safety matters is highly regarded.
- Strong drafting and advocacy skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and document management systems (e.g., iManage).
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to high performance.
