Part-Time CAD Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will primarily focus on creating and revising technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will have experience with drafting, interpreting blueprints, and collaborating with project teams. Knowledge of NFPA codes is a plus but not required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and Drafting: Produce accurate technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD.
- Interpret and update blueprints, construction documents, and design layouts.
- Support project teams by preparing CAD files, schematics, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other staff to ensure design accuracy and consistency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including design calculations, system specifications, and as-built drawings.
- Apply industry standards and best practices in drafting; familiarity with NFPA codes is a plus.
Requirements and Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).
- Previous drafting or CAD experience in construction, engineering, or related fields.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes preferred, but not required.
- Professional presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic and critical thinking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills, both internally and externally.
- Self-directed professional with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle stress and remain productive.
- Self-starter, excellent listener and completes tasks independently and efficiently and with limited direction.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar.
- Ability to learn all software systems used throughout the company.
- Ability to work independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring, and/or ongoing projects.

Additional Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.

- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
