SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – MONROE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Position Summary
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs by:
- Creating and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Collaborating with colleagues and families to support student growth.
- Implementing and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Building strong relationships that encourage independence, confidence, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and help identify student learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with the educational team.
- Support students with academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Partner with families to encourage involvement in their child’s education.
- Collaborate with general education staff and outside agencies.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Continue professional learning through workshops, training, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement (all endorsements considered).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to supporting all students in reaching their fullest potential.
