We're looking for candidates with 2-4 years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator or in Mortgage Lending or Mortgage Management. A Day in the Life as a Mortgage Loan Originator at Kohler Credit Union

As a dedicated loan originator, you service the Wisconsin market by creating trusted relationships with members and the community alike. With your working knowledge of mortgage loan policies, credit granting criteria and interest rates, you are the "go-to" loan officer for our home-financing clients.

Your unique sales skills assist you as you discuss loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates and loan documentation in a way that borrowers understand and feel positive about. To those members that do not qualify, you come from the point-of-view that it is not "no", but rather, "not yet." You make sure that they know exactly what they need to do in order to achieve their goals and follow up with them in the future. You stay abreast of loan products and trends as they relate to our market and member base in order to maintain a sound loan portfolio. You eagerly attend appropriate local/regional educational seminars and attend outside events such as home shows, sales / trade shows, open houses, etc. to promote not only Kohler Credit Union, but to establish yourself as a dedicated and knowledgeable mortgage lending professional. Your people skills will help you establish relationships with members, center of influences, and realtors. These relationships will be helpful in achieving your lending goals.

When handling loan requests, you gather documents to review them for completeness, you work with the processing team to resolve any issues, and then work on closing the loan. When each loan closes, you share a wonderful feeling of accomplishment with your borrower!

What We're Looking For:  

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience in Mortgage Loan Origination, Lending, or Mortgage Management, with a willingness to obtain NMLS certification
• Solid understanding of mortgage products, guidelines, and industry regulations
• Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building trust and lasting relationships

Schedule: Monday through Friday with the occasional evening or weekend events to connect with our community!
