The opportunity

Hitachi Energy’s, HVDC & FACTS factory is in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, well connected to the port and airport - approximately 55 km away from Chennai Port, 35 km away from Chennai Inter-national Airport and 40 km away from Hitachi Energy Engineering Center. The factory focuses on the assembly and testing of three different converter valve technologies that adhere to the LCC, VSC and STATCOM (FACTS) technologies and control and protection testing for FACTS applica-tions. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the HVDC global production and testing system including remote factory assistance testing (FAT) system encased in a temperature and humidity-
controlled environment.
How you’ll make an impact
- Follow Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and business compliance standards and regulations within the units.
- Responsible for respective Assembly Station and associated Production tools. Assembling of HVDC Valve Converters.
- Production documentation such as assembly / work instructions, Reports. Contribution to meet production KPI targets, FPY, On-time and On-cost delivery.
- Develop best practices to improve production capacity, Quality and Reliability. Improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing Workflow, Space requirements and equipment layout. Lean manufacturing and downtime.
- Assembly tools, Fixtures and ergonomics study. Maintenance of Shopfloor 5S.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- Candidate should have Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
