About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Early Years, Inclusion and Childcare service as an Inclusion Practitioner. You will work with children both in their homes and in early years provision to provide a package of support to prevent the risk of exclusion for children of non-statutory school age.  Alongside this you will have the opportunity to work directly with children and professionals in various settings to enable children to participate as fully as possible in the delivery of plans or programmes to promote the education and inclusion of children within the Early Years SEND Inclusion Practitioner’s caseload.  

You will have the opportunity to develop your own skills and knowledge through training and working alongside experienced colleagues.

About You

Please refer to the 7 point criteria  giving examples of how you meet the criteria below

  • To provide a package of support to prevent the risk of exclusion for children of non-statutory school age. This will include working directly with children and professionals in various settings and at home to enable children to participate as fully as possible in the delivery of plans or programmes to reach their potential 
  • To support the inclusion of children on his or her caseload into Early Years settings and schools by modelling practice and sharing information and offering advice with the staff working in those settings. 
  • To be instrumental in developing a collaborative working environment by maintaining and enhancing effective relationships. 
  • To be willing to travel and work across schools and settings across the county to build the skill base and capacity to include pupils with recognised SEMH needs. To work with pre-school provision providing practical advice, information and support to ensure children with emerging SEND or at risk of exclusion benefit from attending the provision 
  • To support the transition of children on his or her caseload into pre-school and school settings by modelling practice and sharing information to ensure children have the best start to their educational journey 
  • To take an active part in the planning and preparation of materials to support children who attend the provision and to plan and deliver programmes of behavioural support to individual children at the specialist nursery or the deployed school. 
  • To liaise with other professional and voluntary agencies supporting the children and/or families on his or her caseload.
