Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Established industry leader in the Aerospace industry, Pryer Aerospace is adding to the accounting team and hiring for a Controller in Tulsa, OK.

The position will be responsible for establishing and executing the company’s financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. The Controller will report directly to and support the Chief Financial Officer in carrying out the responsibilities of the department and oversee a small team.

This is a hands-on role with a growing company. Responsibilities include maintaining best accounting practices to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for the company’s leadership team, lenders and equity holders. Additional responsibilities include preparing budget forecasts, managing cost accounting, and overseeing accounts receivable/payables and collections.

The Controller plays a critical role in ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant. This role is well-suited for a self-motivated professional with strong analytical skills, a commitment to process improvement, and a desire to take ownership of their functions.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee all accounting activities, including financial reporting and analysis, inventory management, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely dissemination of GAAP financial statements and management reports as required.
  • Prepare month-end closing, journal entries, inventory evaluation, and ensure all costs are recorded to completed manufacturing jobs and closed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor financial condition by conducting internal audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Ensure relevant accounting guidelines, internal controls and policies are properly and consistently applied.
  • Assist in the implementation of budget planning by establishing schedules, analyzing data, consolidating financials, and recommending plans.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Manage physical inventories and cycle count program.
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, inventory, and liability by customer account. 
  • Analyze and monitor costs and financial position in key areas (volumes, margins, scrap, labor, overhead, inventory, etc.).
  • Gather data/assist in preparing local, state, and federal tax returns as applicable.
  • Collaborate with HR on payroll.
  • Prepare various ad-hoc financial models as required.
  • Provide support to the business leaders and staff, especially when impacting the financials, certain processes and internal controls.

 

 

 

Qualifications


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, MBA, CMA or CPA plus.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience with evidence of career progression.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, financial reporting and analysis, product costing, inventory controls, and process improvements.
  • Understanding of ASC 606.
  • Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Epicor ERP or similar systems.
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze, reconcile, and interpret data, complex accounts, and reserves.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must be proficient in all MS Office programs, with advanced skills in Excel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift). Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier weights with assistance.

Must be able to tolerate exposure to manufacturing environments, including moderate noise levels, vibrations, and varying temperatures.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required, Such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

On the production floor, PPE is required depending on department and product (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection).
