Under the direction of the Business Manager:
Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the Park District safety program.
Maintain complete up-to-date filing cabinets and photocopying.
The RiverPlex awards scholarships to the people who qualify. The Park District sends about 100 members at a time to the Riverplex and the Billing Assistant is responsible for following the many procedures properly to ensure everything runs smoothly through this difficult process.
The Billing Assistant works with people who are behind in payments, which mean we are their collection agency and may have to talk to them in person or call them over the phone to fix the issue.
Establish and maintain supplies in the supply cabinet.
Responsible for taking and picking up payroll and employee checks every week.
Will be required to be trained in Aphelion V4.
When answering phone calls, accurate information should be provided.
Will be required to perform secretarial functions independently and be able to use time wisely without the presence of the Business Manager.
Qualifications
Education- Must be at least 16 years of age.
Experience- Previous office work strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Ability- efficient filing skills, photocopying, telephone skills, and organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. A car is required to deliver payroll to the Peoria Park District every two weeks. Stuffing checks, credit card billing, cleaning, and assisting the Business Manager are a few other tasks that will be called upon. Aphelion V4 is the database we use to manage our members and the Billing Assistant must be trained and have explicit knowledge of this source.
Proficient in basic PC operations.
Ability to accurately pace yourself to complete all of your work.
Must possess a valid drivers license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
Ability to provide the best possible image of the Peoria District so the public respects and appreciates the Park District, its facilities and the quality of its programs.
Aptitude for on-the-job training and ability to follow both written and oral instructions.
Ability to work harmoniously with the public and fellow employees in an enthusiastic and cooperative manner.
Ability to develop this position to better serve the division and willingness to further develop personal skills.
Ability to develop a broad based knowledge of the community in order to further Park District objectives.
