The Regulatory Manager serves as a subject matter expert across key renewable fuel standard programs, including RFS (RINs), LCFS/CFP, ISCC, and other federal and state initiatives. This role supports the Compliance Director and team while collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and management of regulatory programs.

The position includes external communications with customers and vendors impacted by regulatory frameworks, as well as oversight of international compliance efforts—particularly with the parent company in Brazil and other global markets developing carbon programs.


Preferred Expertise: RFS, LCFS/CFP, ISCC, Canada CFR; additional experience with Voluntary Credits, Solar, RECs, and CCS is a plus.


Responsibilities

  • Program Implementation: lead and manage the rollout of newly regulated programs for the compliance team
  • Collaboration: partner with commercial, scheduling, risk, and business technology teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing compliance
  • Regulatory Expertise: stay current on industry trends, laws, and regulatory updates; proactively communicating changes and their business impacts
  • Training & Guidance: Educate staff on regulations and internal procedures; lead training sessions and provide daily regulatory support
  • Compliance oversight: maintain and improve SOPs, monitoring plans, and recordkeeping systems; support reporting, verification, and attestations to government agencies and third-party verifiers
  • Strategic Contribution: collaborate on compliance enhancements and future planning; contribute innovative ideas and action plans
  • Daily Communication: maintain consistent communication with internal teams and external partners to support regulatory and operational needs
  • Internal Program Management: oversee day-to-day operations verifications, and reporting for all international regulatory programs (e.g. ISCC, Canada CFR, etc.)
Requirements

Education/Experience 

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, policy related field, or business administration
  • Equivalent of 5+ years energy experience / 5+ years compliance experience
  • Prior experience in renewable fuel, energy, or ag-based carbon credit programs

Required Skills 

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Right Angle experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Right Angle/ Solarc
  • Familiarity with the Low Carbon Clean Standard programs and EPA Renewable Fuel Standard

Work Conditions

Hybrid. Physically in the office Tuesday – Thursday and remote Monday and Friday. Potential for travel to conferences if needed.
