**This is a part-time position with a pay rate of $12.50 per hour – must be available to work
weekends**

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each
customer. He/she is also responsible for educating customers about our premium coffees and
products. The barista fulfills any other duties the supervisor assigns and represents Coffee Beanery
and Sloan Museum of Discovery in a professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Stock coolers and shelves appropriately
· Assists Special Events Team with large events.
· Follows all Company drink recipes and procedures
· Develops an understanding of coffee and all Coffee Beanery products
· Proficiently prepares all Coffee Beanery drink and food products in an expedite yet quality manner
· Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness
· Other duties as assigned
· Maintains regular and prompt attendance at work
· Displays professional and respectful behavior to all persons in the workplace
· Follows organizational policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
· Must have high school diploma or GED
· Must be available to work as needed including weekends, evenings, and special events as needed
· Well-organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task
· Must have effective problem solving/decision making skills
· Experience working with customers and communicating in person, on the phone and via email
· Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and frequently bend/twist from the waist
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
