Arconic is currently in search of Mechanical Technical Specialist to join our Thermal and Finishing Maintenance Department based in Alcoa, Tennessee.

Responsibilities
- Adhere to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement and other company policies
- Act as direct support of the Maintenance Organization
- Work in tandem with craft employees in Union environment
- Act as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel
- Respond to trouble calls on a 24/7 basis as needed
- Part of a On-Call rotation with other techs/engineers
- Assist in the design of manufacturing processes and procedures
- Assist in overseeing and executing downtime work on small and larger projects
- Assist in justification of new equipment & ensuring that rebuilds and spares are sent for repairs or are ordered
- Be involved with continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods
- Use lean manufacturing tools and principles to improve work, actively support and participate in problem solving (5c’s and 8 step problem solving)
- Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues
- Have common working knowledge of basic machine electrical functions
- This position will require frequent shift and weekend line/maintenance support.
- This position will also backfill the Maintenance Supervisor position as needed.
- This role reports to the Maintenance Superintendent
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Mechanical systems and controls utilized in industrial applications
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution
- 5 years of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
- Experience in troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives and Rockwell Control Logix series Programmable Logic Controllers
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Proficient problem solving and creative thinking skills
- Strong maintenance background.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Gas fired combustion system exposure desired
