Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst (Operational Excellence) to join our Sydney office.

About the role and about the team

The Business Analyst will support the Director of Operational Excellence in identifying, leading, and implementing optimisation strategies, including integrating and scaling the use of emerging AI technologies to improve operational efficiency, resource utilisation, and overall business performance. This role plays a critical part in driving continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for optimisation, embracing emerging technologies, and fostering a culture of excellence across the firm

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the baselining, evaluation, and redesign of business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Support the implementation of process improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with various groups and teams to gather information, understand their needs, and provide insights to support decision-making. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for optimisation and innovation. Monitor and analyse success metrics for completed projects to identify opportunities for process improvements and drive a continuous improvement cycle.

  • Assist in the discovery, application, and change management approach in support of the appropriate adoption of emerging technologies across the firm in support of uplifting operational performance.

This is a newly created role which will offer a broad and diverse scope of work. You will have the opportunity to work directly with Partners, legal teams, and colleagues across the firm, making this a standout opportunity for a BA looking to progress their career, build visibility, and refine their stakeholder engagement capabilities in a dynamic environment. It is a standalone position which will have exceptional external support, as well as support from internal business services lines.

About you

  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in business analysis, process improvement or similar role. Law firm, management consultancy or professional services experience is highly desirable.

  • Ability to capture business requirements from a nationally dispersed group of stakeholders and create associated documentation for business approval.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical implementation stories for development.

  • Knowledge of the application of emerging AI technologies in the workplace such as RPA, Machine Learning and Large Language Models.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI.

  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen.

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies such as MS Project, MS Planner, Jira, Confluence, Prince2, and Agile Scrum.
