Position Summary:

A key member of Toyota Material Handling’s legal team, this self-starter will be an agent of change with keen analytic skills. This role is charged with improving and maintaining the legal team’s internal processes, IT systems, and tools. With an eye for process improvement, you will identify, implement, and maintain innovative processes and systems to improve the operational efficiency of the legal team.  The successful candidate will manage the contract lifecycle via a legal technology solution to provide proactive metrics for the team’s KPI’s and inform varying stakeholders.  This person will also provide key support to enterprise projects such as corporate records, business entity management and state registrations, business continuity and other legal projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Your aptitude for project and knowledge management, data analytics and reporting will combine with your vision and drive for continuous process improvement and simplification.
  • Spearhead the development of the Legal Department's annual strategic and operational plans and track, monitor and report on the same.
  • Work cross-functionally to build, implement, and execute effective strategies for the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Fully leverage and manage legal technology, which includes daily populating with documents and information, developing and running reports, on contracts, corporate governance, entity management, and real estate.
  • Translating reported data into meaningful information for the legal team and other departments to automate tracking and monitoring of department KPI’s.
  • Regularly support attorneys as needed on matters such as contracts and document management.
  • Assist in the management of corporate governance obligations, including initial drafting of board  resolutions and minutes for TMH and its affiliates.
  • Provide project leadership for initiatives such as enterprise risk management and business continuity.
  • Other special projects support as needed.

 

Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Highly motivated, self-starter.
  • Excellent and succinct verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment as a team member.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Excel in a role with high-volume of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years of project management/process improvement experience or experience in private law firm or corporate legal department.
