CWI Works is recruiting for a Visitor Services & Community Engagement Program Mentor position within the Experience Service Program (ESP) that provides support to the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service Interpretation, Education, and Community Partnerships Program in Atlanta, GA.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Coaching, mentoring, and training developing young adults (up to age 30) in career skills including hard and soft skills
  • Providing professional support in developing handbooks, standard operating procedures, and community engagement events, as well providing advice based on experience and professional knowledge
  • Coordinating webinars, virtual training, meetings, and planning efforts for volunteerism, youth development, and interpretation for the Southeast Region of the NPS
  • Creating or maintaining program management resources using SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and a range of Microsoft and Adobe products (templates, forms, similar)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience 5-10 years high level administrative, or similar work experience. Knowledge of National Park Service policies and practices, particularly Director's Orders 6, 7, 9, 20, 21, 22, 36, 50 and associated reference manuals. Demonstrated advanced skills in preparing and presenting webinars and curricula-based training to adult learners using Microsoft Teams including evaluation and adjustments based on feedback. Excellent communication skills and interact well with people from all areas within the agency.  Experience in MS Office, MS Teams, Zoom, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Comfortability engaging with and preparing materials for multi-disciplinary teams, senior staff, and organization leadership. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. Flexibility, a "team" attitude, and a sense of humor. Personal passion for our national parks highly encouraged. Travel anticipated. 

Hours & CompensationPart-Time position working up to 20 hours per week @ $35 per hour 12 month project.
