POSITION SUMMARY
Performs a variety of electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic tests on high pressure systems, subassemblies and parts to insure components function as designed and/or to determine cause of unit failure, using full range of test instruments, under direction of the R&D Manager or Senior Test Technician.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, blue prints and schematics to ascertain testing procedure and equipment to be used.
- Monitor testing recording temperatures, capacity changes and performing repairs as needed.
- Assembly, documentation and testing of prototypes including pressure drop and over pressure testing.
- Fabrication of test fixtures and enclosures which encompass metal fabrication, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic components.
- Compares results with specifications and records test data or plots test results.
- Analyzes pumps, accessories, or components to determine wear characteristics, defects and determine reasons for failure.
- Must have ability to use and read micrometers, bore scopes, bore gauges, CMM and have own tools.
- Will be required to learn and operate a data acquisition system and interpret results.
- Must be able to document test results accurately and clearly, communicate effectively, get along with co-workers, and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally.
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years related experience as an equipment mechanic.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills with a strong attention to detail is required
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time without sacrificing quality of work is required.
- Ability to effectively interact with all members of the organization and work with cross-functional teams is required.
