Job Title: Lease Operator III
Location: Tilden Field Office – Tilden, TX
Schedule: 8 Days On / 6 Days Off
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lease Operator III to safely and efficiently operate, monitor, and maintain oil, gas, and water separation facilities, wells, and associated equipment. This position plays a key role in facility start-up, daily operations, and preventive maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, and process optimization. Candidates with new facility start-up experience are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary operations contact for assigned facilities
Monitor process flow, operating parameters, and safety equipment to ensure optimal performance
Issue Safe Work Permits and conduct gas testing as required for maintenance activities
Inspect and maintain equipment using visual and sensory checks (temperature, pressure, leaks, vibration, etc.)
Perform “visual maintenance” and basic repairs such as adding lubricants, changing filters, and tightening fittings
Gauge tanks, record production data, collect samples, and monitor chemical injection rates
Operate and maintain company vehicles in good condition
Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling
Maintain accurate gauge sheets and production records, noting reasons for any production changes
Ensure equipment is winterized or summerized as needed for efficiency
Monitor field equipment using handheld devices and computer systems
Inspect and maintain safety devices such as valves, extinguishers, and breathing apparatus
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and environmental protection practices
Support team objectives, communicate process changes, and maintain operational readiness
Required Skills & Qualifications
College degree or trade school certificate
Prior experience in a similar oil & gas operational role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented mindset
High initiative and commitment to improving operational results
Willingness to work rotating shifts and be available for callouts as needed
Ability to operate, maintain, and repair production surface equipment
Strong computer skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities
Physically able to lift over 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairways
Ability to use SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other safety equipment
