About the Role

You will be responsible for building and strengthening Our House’s relationships with the broader community, including donors, media partners, volunteers, and corporate supporters. You will lead outreach efforts, represent Our House at public events, coordinate press and media opportunities, and steward potential funders through the giving process.


What You’ll Do

  • Represent Our House at community events, speaking engagements, and outreach opportunities to raise awareness about Our House and build partnerships
  • Develop and maintain a calendar of outreach opportunities, speaking engagements, and public events to ensure consistent community visibility
  • Serve as the primary liaison for media and press, including drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, and managing media inquiries
  • Lead on-site tours for community partners, prospective donors, grantors, and other key stakeholders
  • Develop tailored proposals for private and corporate funders and steward them through the giving process—from initial outreach to solicitation, follow-up, and relationship management
  • Collaborate with the Development team to support major fundraising events, with a focus on soliciting and coordinating auction item donations from community businesses
  • Analyze the existing donor and volunteer base to identify opportunities for deeper engagement, including increased giving and long-term involvement
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors by providing regular updates on donor prospects and major givers, and engage board members in identifying and cultivating new funding opportunities
  • Coordinate recognition efforts for key donors, volunteers, and community partners to strengthen ongoing relationships
  • Partner with Our House Resale Stores to steward corporate donors who contribute in-kind goods, ensuring relationships are recognized and maintained
  • Generate creative engagement initiatives and campaigns to inspire community involvement, promoted through email, social media, and other platforms
  • Write and publish blog and news posts for the Our House website to spotlight clients, programs, events, and community impact stories
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Manager to align community outreach efforts and integrate volunteers into broader engagement strategies
  • Conduct other duties as assigned to fulfill Our House’s mission


What You’ll Bring

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate a wide range of individuals
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; able to work effectively across teams and with diverse community partners
  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to manage multiple projects and see them through to completion
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on improving systems and growing impact
  • Experience in volunteer coordination, community outreach, or related roles is highly preferred
  • A collaborative spirit, positive attitude, and deep commitment to the mission and values of Our House


Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle to use in performance of job. Position requires some travel within Central Arkansas.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background checks, child and adult maltreatment registry checks, sex offender registry checks, and a pre-employment drug screen
