Your Misson:
Responsible for all facility activities related to transportation, procurement, production scheduling and inventory control. Manages up to ten direct reports and thirty indirect reports; responsible for managing subordinate performance as it pertains to departmental goals. Communicates with customers, suppliers and vendors to optimize supply-chain functions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
What You'll Do:
Manage all transportation, scheduling and inventory related functions. Responsible for maintaining the supply chain budget and making budget recommendations during the annual planning process.
Assist in the creation of short and long-term production capacity and production plans to ensure optimal customer satisfaction while minimizing costs.
Work with procurement to ensure sufficient, cost-effective materials from primary and secondary sources while optimizing inventory levels and lead times.
Monitor market and production changes to reprioritize schedules and decisions related to supply orders, price margins and storage capacity.
Manage shipping, receiving and warehouse staff ensuring that daily transactions are conducted in accordance with established practices and procedures. Manage transportation and material handling equipment including third-party carrier relationships.
Ensure accuracy of all plan inventories. Responsible for turns, obsolescence, cycle counts and adhering to First In-First Out (FIFO) for multi-million dollar physical inventory.
Ensure accuracy of computer system information including inventory, bills of material, MRP generation and transactions.
Act in a liaison role to between multiple entities within the company to effectively manage transportation and production functions
Develop, track and report relevant supply chain metrics to provide timely visibility to all supply chain activities. Develop, analyze and approve department policies and procedures.
Participate in weekly plant inspections and audits, Investigate and issue corrective actions for any food safety, quality, or process deviation as outlined in the BRC manual.
Maintain FSMAST (Food Safety Modernization Act Sanitary Transportation Carrier Compliance Agreement) Compliance agreements for all carriers.
Facilitate practical problem-solving exercises and implementation of short and long-term corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain thorough understanding of company policies and procedures necessary for completion of tasks and enforcement of internal controls.
Communicate with other departments and companies as needed.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate safety processes are followed and timely follow-up as needed.
Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
Four (4) year degree in Accounting, Finance, Logistics or related degree.
Minimum of seven years of experience, including but not limited to, Supply Chain and Warehouse management, experience with first and secondary sources, purchasing, planning, inventory, scheduling, and material management.
Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role, including but not limited to coaching, development, performance management and hiring.
Evidence in analytical thinking, creativity & innovation as well as managing & improving processes and motivating others for change and improvement initiatives.
Prior experience with Logistics, third party trucking vendor and emergency trucking options (if Evan agrees)
Prior experience with vendor/supplier, selection, management and negotiation. Adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), if applicable.
Previous experience with developing and executing policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to operate MRP/ERP applications.
Prior experience with budgetary forecasting and administration and variance justifications.
Evidence of highly developed written, verbal and presentation communications skills, with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
Evidence of analytical skills and problem-solving using sound business judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally as well as ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic business goals.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Previous experience in a production environment.
Working knowledge of Oracle operating system preferred
