Ice Marshall
Recreation and Culture Department 
Seasonal Term – up to 4 positions available

 

The City of Lethbridge Recreation and Culture department is accepting applications for up to 4 Seasonal Term positions of Ice Marshall to work at various City of Lethbridge arenas.

Pay Rate:                     $28.63 per hour 
Status:                        The term will be approximately 6 months, starting in September

Hours of Work:            0 – 40 hours per week (day, evening, and weekend shift work may be required)

DUTIES:

Duties include general supervision of skaters during programs, assisting the Recreation Operator on duty, performing cleaning duties, and reporting problems or difficulties to a supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates will have the following skills and qualifications:

·         Ability to skate

·         Knowledge of applicable ice rules and regulations

·         Good communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with the public

·         Ability to carry out duties based upon oral and/or written instructions

·         Ability to work on a team or independently with minimal direction

·         Must be physically capable of performing manual labour including the set up and removal of hockey nets

·         Preference will be given to candidates who possess a valid first aid and CPR certification.

The successful candidates must demonstrate the following expectations in carrying out the position’s responsibilities:

·         Combination of skills and opportunities to help earn the trust, respect, and confidence of the community.

·         Decision Making - doing the right thing for the situation.

·         Consistency of approach-every person knowing they matter/they will be heard and treated with dignity.
