ONLY CURRENT MTA/NYCT TRANSIT PERMANENT TRACK/TRACK EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISORS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY     
The Track and Infrastructure Training Unit (part of Operations Training Division) provides induction training and skill development for current employees in the areas of Track Supervisor, Track Inspector, Track Safety, Hydraulics, Elevator & Escalator, and Heavy Equipment. The courses offered are curated to empower operating personnel to perform their duties in a safe, efficient and effective manner. The learning programs are developed in partnership with NYCT’s departmental management and other MTA agencies.
 
REQUIREMENTS: Position is only open to current MTA/NYCT employees who have a permanent status in the title of Maintenance Supervisor I or II – Track, Track Equipment Maintainer.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This role is for dynamic and enthusiastic supervisors that are looking for promotion, skill & leadership development and overtime opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to:
 
  • Supervise and instruct hourly, supervisory & management employees in the classroom and field locations
  • Create and maintain training aids & mockups • Evaluate student performance and maintain records
  • Collaborate with colleagues and department managers to coordinate & schedule training
  • Research industry best practices and incorporates new & innovative delivery methods
  • Deliver training presentations and facilitate computer-based training
  • Provide trouble shooting and technical assistance
  • Perform administrative tasks and other duties as required to meet business needs
Compensation:
Maintenance Supervisor II (Track/Track Equipment) Salary Range:
1st Entrance    $110,381
2nd Year          $111,951
3rd Year           $115,888
 Desired Skills:
  • Create and follow lesson plans & present training materials in an effective manner
  • Ability to communicate through verbal and written means
  • Coordinate with other training units to achieve training goals effectively
  • Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Provide input to update and revise learning materials / manuals
  • Work to develop instructor and participant learning materials/manuals
  • Knowledge of construction, maintenance and inspection of NYC Transit subway and elevated tracks
  • Ability to use resources effectively and adapt to changing conditions
  • Knowledge and experience of track safety and track flagging procedures as outlined in the NYCT Rules and Regulations, MW-1 Standards Reference Manual & the MOW Safety Rule Books

 Education and Experience:

Five years of full-time-satisfactory experience working for a major railroad or transit authority installing, maintaining, and repairing track; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
