Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex®, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys. Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, PC/ABS, HDPE, and PP.

Mix Operator III
REPORTS TO:
Production Supervisor
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
As a Mix Operator III at Toray, the operator will be considered the main operator for multiple mixers and will possess full understanding of the resin mixing process. The operator should be able to set up various mixers and milling equipment without supervision and must be able to troubleshoot basic process related issues. Mix Operator III will be accountable for upholding the Toray’s quality standard and processes by identifying any raw material issues or equipment issues to production lead or supervisor. Operators at this level are expected to review raw material requirements for their current mix and next mixes to ensure ovens are loaded properly. Operator should be able to communicate the importance of raw material differences and the requirements related to storage, pre-heating and out time to lower-level operators. You must be fully proficient working in paperless mix records, reviewing resin campaign requirements and resin history database. Additionally, the operator should be able to follow procedures which includes the use of personal protection equipment (where relevant) to safeguard yourself, other employees, and the work environment. Mix Operator III must be able to follow procedures to handle and dispose hazmat waste safely in designated area. MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Mix Operator Responsibility:
- Be able to perform all the roles and responsibilities listed in Mix Operator 1 and II Job descriptions
- Be able to use Mash equipment to make syntactic foam
- Trained to make special mixes like HTBN, ETBN, Conductive Mixes (EX-A, Cy-2C)
- Fully trained in all areas of mix (DP10, LDM, Cyanates, DP40, Epoxy and Milling Equipment)
- Be able to do oven loadings for upcoming mixes and next shift.
Quality:
- Understand how to inspect raw materials and finished resin system per Quality requirements
Safety
- Follow safety procedures for PPE (personal protection equipment)
- Dispose hazmat waste in proper area
- Maintain a clean working environment
Other:
- Perform other duties as assigned by Lead/Supervisor or designee
- Movement and lifting (approx. 551bs) of materials
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 3 year of experience working in manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Math and basic computer skills required
- Ability to convert grams to pounds and do basic reformulation
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions for resin mixing
- Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English
- Able to work and communicate as a team
- Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner
- Must be capable of lifting up to 55 lbs
- Excellent attendance: ability to work overtime, weekends and off shifts when needed
SALARY RANGE: $40 - $44.99 per hour DOE
