About the Role:
The Manufacturing Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the manufacturing floor within the durable goods sector. This position ensures that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The supervisor leads a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and performance management to optimize productivity. They collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, the Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for driving operational excellence and supporting the company’s commitment to delivering superior products on schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software and basic computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with other departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related discipline.
- Experience in durable goods manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced production planning tools.
- Demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor production staff to enhance skills, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and promote teamwork.
- Monitor workflow, equipment performance, and material availability to identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality control, maintenance, and engineering to address production challenges and implement process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records, prepare reports, and communicate progress and issues to management.
