Summary of Position: 

The Permit Manager oversees and coordinates all permitting activities from application to approval, serving as the primary liaison between Core States Group, clients, and municipalities to ensure timely and accurate permit processing in support of project goals.

                                                       

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all permitting activities from application to final approval, ensuring timely progression in alignment with project milestones.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Core States Group, clients, municipalities, and external consultants, maintaining professional relationships and facilitating permit approvals.
  • Prepare, submit, track, and maintain permit applications and documentation for engineering, architecture, and construction projects across various jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and outside professionals (architects, engineers, consultants) to gather and review required documents, ensure accuracy, and support start package preparation for new projects.
  • Coordinate with local jurisdictions to research via web search, phone calls, and emails to generate accurate SIR or Feasibility Study reports.
  • Maintain organized records of applications, permits, licenses, and related correspondence; monitor and report on the status of permits throughout the approval process.
  • Attend project meetings with clients, municipal agencies, and internal teams to coordinate permitting actions and resolve issues as needed.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, reports, and databases, including updates in platforms such as Monday.com.
  • Support general administrative functions including document preparation, invoice coordination, and clerical tasks related to permitting operations.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

                                         

Qualifications: 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field is preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Multiple years of experience in permitting, municipal processes, or project coordination with an engineering, architecture, or construction firm is preferred.

                                                                                                                                          

Technical Skills:

  • MS Office 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of local codes and ordinances to ensure compliance and uphold Core States Group’s professional standards in all municipal interactions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit (or stand) at a desk for 6-8 hours a day.
  • Ability to work on a computer for 6-8 hours a day.
  • Local travel up to 25%
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
