Position Summary
As a Property Underwriter Assistant, you’ll play a key role in reviewing and assessing new quotes/policies and renewal business to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines. You will provide exceptional support to internal and external customers and contribute to the efficient, accurate, and consistent application of underwriting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate, and process quotes, applications, reports, and policy documents
- Assist agents, policyholders, vendors, and internal teams with questions and requests
- Perform administrative tasks and support special projects as needed
- Respond to emails, calls, and chats in a professional and timely manner
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the customer experience
- Order reports and re-evaluate risks to ensure ongoing eligibility
- Work independently and in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of Property & Casualty underwriting experience or bachelor’s degree required
- Florida 2-20 or 4-40 insurance license preferred
- Strong reading and interpretation skills for policies, regulations, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound decision-making and judgment skills
- Ability to manage priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
